Bees/Wasps/Hive Removal

Long Point Pest Control exterminates wasps, bees, hornets, yellow-jackets, and hives and attempts to remove hives when possible.

Wasp and Bee Control

There are several hundred different species of bees and wasps in the Houston area alone. While they provide several helpful functions for our environment, they can also be an annoying or even hazardous pest when invading your home.

Bees

Many types of bees exist, ranging from the humble honey bee to the carpenter bee. Though most are normally calm, bees will attack if they feel their hive is threatened.

Bees defend their home by stinging which injects a venom into the attacker. This venom can cause pain and irritation at the site of injection and can be dangerous or even fatal if the individual is allergic.

Bees play a vital role in the ecosystem and their presence (or absence) has a huge impact on agriculture because they pollinate entire fields of crops while buzzing about their business. For this reason, it is best not to harm bees or bee hives when possible.

Wasps, Hornets, and Yellow-Jackets

Wasps, hornets, and yellow-jackets differ from bees in a few key areas. First, while most bees can only sting once, wasps, hornets, and yellow-jackets can prick multiple times before exhausting their venom. They also tend to be more aggressive than bees.
